  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sear chicken for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt butter and add sliced onion. Cook until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic, thyme, and cinnamon, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add apple cider, broth, Dijon mustard, and honey. Stir to combine, scraping up browned bits from the bottom.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet along with apple slices. Simmer uncovered for 10–12 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley or sage and serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables.

Notes

  • For a thicker glaze, simmer sauce a few extra minutes or uncover even longer to reduce.
