- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup old-fashioned oats
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 2 medium apples, peeled and finely chopped
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup oats
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- ⅓ cup store-bought halal caramel sauce or homemade
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine crust ingredients until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the pan and bake for 10 minutes.
- While crust bakes, prepare cheesecake layer: beat cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
- In another bowl, toss apples with sugar and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, mix streusel ingredients with a fork until crumbly.
- After crust is done, pour cheesecake mixture over it. Top with the apple layer, then sprinkle with streusel.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until the center is set.
- Cool completely, then drizzle with caramel sauce before slicing into bars.
Notes
- Line pan with parchment for easy removal and cleanup.
- Chill the bars before slicing for cleaner cuts.
- To prevent browning, toss apples with a little lemon juice before using.
- Store leftovers chilled in the fridge for up to 3 days.
