    • 20 saltine crackers
    • ½ cup unsalted butter
    • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Cookie Dough
    • ¾ cup unsalted butter
    • ¾ cup brown sugar
    • ¼ cup granulated sugar
    • 1 large egg
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • ½ tsp baking soda
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar, bring to a boil, and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour toffee evenly over crackers and bake for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove, cool slightly, then break into small pieces.
  6. Lower oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty, then cool slightly.
  8. In a bowl, mix brown butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar.
  9. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix well.
  10. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until dough forms.
  11. Fold in toffee pieces and chocolate chips.
  12. Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 12–15 minutes until edges are set.
  13. Cool slightly before serving.
