Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped

- 2 cups seafood or vegetable broth
- 1 cup coconut milk or cooking cream
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 1/2 lb lump crab meat
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and celery and cook 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Sprinkle in gluten free flour and stir constantly for 1 minute to form a light roux.
- Gradually whisk in broth until smooth. Stir in coconut milk or cream and tomato sauce.
- Add paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer gently for 10-12 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Stir in shrimp and cook 3-4 minutes until pink and tender.
- Gently fold in crab meat and heat through for 2 minutes.
- Finish with lemon juice and fresh parsley before serving.
