Description

Crab Shrimp Queso is a creamy, cheesy seafood dip that shines at parties, game days, and family gatherings. This crowd-pleasing recipe blends tender crab meat and shrimp with melty cream cheese, shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack, and a hint of garlic and paprika. It comes together quickly on the stove, stays warm for easy dipping, and pairs perfectly with tortilla chips or toasted bread. A delicious, crowd-pleasing dip that disappears fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ lb shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • ½ lb crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt, or to taste
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes until pink and cooked through.
  3. Stir in crab meat and cook for another minute.
  4. Lower heat and add cream cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  5. Gradually stir in milk, cheddar cheese, and Monterey Jack cheese.
  6. Add paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir until the dip is creamy and fully melted.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
  8. Serve warm with tortilla chips or toasted bread.

Notes

  • For a thicker dip, reduce milk to ½ cup or simmer longer to reduce liquid.
  • For extra heat, add ½ to 1 minced jalapeño or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Can be made ahead; reheat gently on low, stirring until smooth.
  • Great with tortilla chips, crusty bread, or sliced vegetables.
