Chicken Buttered Noodles is a simple, creamy, comforting dish featuring shredded chicken tossed with buttered noodles.

- 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (grilled or rotisserie, skin removed)
- 12 oz egg noodles or wide pasta
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Grated parmesan cheese, for serving (optional but recommended)
Instructions
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in the shredded chicken and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes to heat through.
- Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated in butter and the chicken is evenly distributed.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and grated parmesan, if using. Serve warm.
Notes
- Best served warm straight from the skillet.
- For extra creaminess, add a splash of pasta water or a splash of cream as you toss.
- Leftovers reheat well on the stovetop or in the microwave; reheat gently to avoid drying.
- Meat options: chicken is delicious, but shrimp, turkey, or cooked sausage also pair nicely with buttered noodles.
