Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Roll out puff pastry sheets slightly and cut each into 4 equal squares.
- Score a smaller square inside each pastry, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Spoon cream cheese filling into the center of each square.
- Whisk egg and milk together, then brush edges of pastry with egg wash.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Cool slightly, then add optional toppings if desired before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, use full-fat cream cheese and a touch more vanilla.
- Chill time is not required for the dough, but filling can be prepared ahead.
