Description
Eyeball Brownies are a gooey, chocolatey Halloween treat featuring eyeball decorations for a spooky centerpiece.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup white candy melts or white chocolate
- Candy eyeballs (or white chocolate circles with chocolate chips for pupils)
- Red decorating gel or melted red candy for “veins”
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Mix until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, until set in the center. Let cool completely.
- Melt the white candy melts or white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Cut brownies into squares or circles. Spoon a small amount of melted white chocolate onto each brownie to form an “eye.”
- Place a candy eyeball (or homemade version) in the center before it sets.
- Use red gel to draw “veins” radiating from the eyeball for a spooky touch.
- Let the decorations set.
- Slice and serve to spook your guests!
Notes
- Let the brownies cool completely before decorating for clean, crisp eyes.
- If you don’t have candy eyeballs, pipe pupils with extra melted chocolate.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
