The result is tender meat that falls off the bone, ideal for weeknights, family gatherings, and pairs well with roast veg sides.

    • 1 whole chicken
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • melted
    • 4 cloves garlic
    • minced
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

    1. Rinse and pat dry the chicken.
    2. Mix melted butter, garlic, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
    3. Rub the mixture over the entire chicken, including under the skin.
    4. Place chicken in slow cooker, pour chicken broth around it.
    5. Cook on low 6‑7 hours (or high 4‑5 hours) until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
    6. Rest 10 minutes, then carve and serve.
