- 1/2 cup cottage cheese
- 2 tbsp plain yogurt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- 1 tbsp oil or melted butter (for cooking)
- Extra melted butter + minced garlic for brushing
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add cottage cheese and yogurt. Mix until a soft dough forms (add a little water or flour if needed).
- Knead briefly until smooth, then divide into 4 equal portions.
- Roll each piece into an oval or round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sprinkle minced garlic and cilantro over each naan and gently press in.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and brush with oil or butter.
- Cook each naan for 1-2 minutes per side until puffed and golden brown.
- Brush with extra melted butter and garlic before serving.
Notes
- If the dough feels sticky, dust with a little flour or water to reach a soft, non-stick consistency.
- Omit cilantro if desired; can substitute parsley.
- Serve warm with curries or dips for best flavor.
- Leftover naan can be reheated in a skillet or toaster oven.
