Description

Homemade Cheesy Pizza Pockets are golden, crispy pockets filled with gooey mozzarella and cheddar, pepperoni, and a tangy marinara. These quick, kid-friendly bites come together with store-bought or homemade dough and bake to a perfect crunch in 12–15 minutes. Ideal for lunches, snacks, or game nights, they pair with extra sauce for dipping and welcome endless variations with veggies or different cheeses. They freeze well and reheat beautifully for a fast weeknight treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara, plus extra for dipping
  • ½ cup cooked beef or turkey pepperoni, chopped
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Divide pizza dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each into a small circle.
  3. Spoon a small amount of pizza sauce onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a border.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the sauce, then add pepperoni, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  5. Fold dough over filling to form a pocket and press edges firmly to seal.
  6. Brush tops lightly with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, skip pepperoni or replace with sautéed mushrooms and peppers.
  • To freeze for later, assemble pockets on a tray and freeze; transfer to a bag and bake from frozen for 15–18 minutes.
  • Keep edges sealed to prevent cheese leakage during baking.
  • Dip sauce can be any marinara or your favorite pizza sauce.
