Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and all chai spices.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add maple syrup, egg, and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients and stir until a soft dough forms.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the chai spice sugar coating.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat in the chai sugar.
  7. Place cookies on prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool for 5 minutes on the tray, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
