- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (halal)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (halal)
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional for thickening)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Add beef, carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic to the slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, tomato paste, halal Worcestershire, soy sauce, thyme, rosemary, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the mixture over the ingredients in the crockpot and stir lightly.
- Add bay leaves, then cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours or high for 4–5 hours until beef is tender.
- Stir in peas during the final 20 minutes.
- For a thicker stew, add the cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened.
- Remove bay leaves, taste and adjust seasoning, then garnish with parsley.
