- 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count)
- 6 cups water
- ¼ cup baking soda
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse sea salt, for topping
- Optional for dipping: Cheese sauce, mustard, or marinara
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut each biscuit into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a small ball.
- In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil. Carefully stir in baking soda (it will bubble).
- Working in batches, boil dough balls for 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on baking sheet.
- Brush each piece with beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crisp on the outside.
- Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra chew, boil the dough balls a little longer, but watch closely to avoid overcooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container; reheat in a 350°F (175°C) oven for a few minutes.
- You can customize with additional toppings like sesame seeds or flaky salt.
