This easy one-dish casserole delivers classic chicken parmesan flavors with less mess and faster prep. Perfect for four, it bakes to golden bubbly perfection and reheats beautifully, making weeknights delicious and stress-free.

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Topping:
  • 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs (or plain breadcrumbs + 1 tsp Italian seasoning)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella (extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8×8 or 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix shredded chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, pepper, and salt.
  3. Stir in mozzarella and Parmesan until evenly combined.
  4. Spread mixture into the baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle over the casserole.
  6. Top with extra mozzarella.
  7. Bake 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  8. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Add fresh basil or parsley if desired.
